A small ritual, at your own pace.
Read beyond the line
Open the reading panel for the author, work, original text and an available explanation or translation. Missing online translations are clearly indicated.
Keep the words you love
Save a poem to your local favorites. Online favorites keep a text snapshot, so you can return to them after restarting Chrome or going offline.
See the date in a new light
Open the calendar from the date in the top-right corner. Browse months and years, Chinese lunar dates, zodiac information and approximate solar terms.
A page that feels like yours
Adjust the clock, text size, background shading and hemisphere. Press Space for another poem and Escape to close a panel.
Artwork with a clear connection
Bundled entries have dedicated AI-created illustrations. An exact online match reuses its corresponding artwork; other online poems use the default background. Images are prepared in advance.
02 / Privacy policy
Your collection stays in your browser.
Favorites, display settings and poem display history are stored locally. Online recommendations are enabled by default and contact Jinrishici over HTTPS; that service receives the source IP, an anonymous client identifier and its own cookies. You can turn online recommendations off in settings.

01Can I install Yijian from the Chrome Web Store?
The Chrome Web Store listing is in preparation. The GitHub project contains the source and instructions for loading an unpacked extension. No store installation link is available yet.
02Does Yijian work offline?
Yes. It includes 17 offline poetry-and-art entries. Saved online poem snapshots also remain readable offline. New online recommendations require a connection.
03Is a new illustration generated every time?
No. Illustrations are made during development and bundled with the extension. Online poems without a dedicated illustration use the default background.
04Do I need an account or location permission?
No account or precise location permission is required. Online recommendations use a third-party service that can infer context from IP and reuse an anonymous client identifier.
